USDA Extends Milk Program For Year

The USDA extends the Special Milk Program for another year after late June legislation. President Kennedy signed the bill authorizing 105 million dollars from Commodity Credit Corporation funds for the next 12 months, up 10 million from the 1981 limit. A grocery store at 3494 Memorial Blvd. suffered extensive fire damage late Saturday night. Kingsport Fire Department reported the call came in at 10:43 p.m. The building, owned by W. A. Funeral Held Today For Silliman Evans

Nashville publisher Silliman Evans Jr. died of a heart attack aboard his newspaper cruiser on Ol Mickary Lake.
