Herbert Gardard, who lured 17 year old Frances Dunn of Miami to her death promising to help her into acting, was executed in Florida’s electric chair at Sanic Prison. Palm Beach Sheriff Lawrence pressed the switch at 8 02 AM as the current lasted 55 seconds. Gardard’s last words were Goodbye Jean. Joan Bolton, a friend of Miss Dunn, also took part in the crime. Gardard, in a brief statement, admitted his moral responsibility and asked for forgiveness from Mr. and Mrs. Dunn, who were not present. The body was to be buried in the prison cemetery that afternoon.
