Ten month old Firythis May Reed died after tumbling from a footlog bridge into a creek near Slwabethton Tennessee. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs David Reed and the incident occurred while siblings played nearby.
Gov. Gordon Browning will deliver a campaign address at City Hall Saturday evening. Hal Garr of Blountville, Sullivan County Democratic chairman, will introduce him. This is his only appearance in the county as he seeks renomination in the August 3 Democratic primary, facing State Senator Clifford Allen of Nashville. Browning is expected to arrive in Kingsport about 6 p.m. and will be escorted from the Kingsport City Hall by a high school band.

No other local reservists have received mobilization orders, though the Army is accepting applications from reserve officers.
