Five Cornwell Children Hurt in Two Week End Wrecks
Five children and an adult were treated at Community hospital after two separate weekend crashes near Kingsport. Sue Pim Cornwell two months old suffered a head injury while siblings Max Betty J R and Dorothy Cornwell aged 5 12 9 and 14 sustained injuries to eye left shoulder left wrist and left foot respectively. Their mother Mrs Cornwell remained uninjured. The family from Jonesboro route 4 were reportedly in a car driven by the mother when the incidents occurred on the Knoxville highway and on highway 11 W in Hillcrest. Father Roy Cornwell, an industrial plant employee, was named in police reports. Police said accident details were unavailable. All five children were released Saturday.

High Tension Wire Kills Lineman on Long Island
Joseph B. Baker 41 of Long Island died after contacting a 12 000 volt high tension line atop a 40 foot pole near Gate City highway. Firemen and physicians treated him for over three hours with artificial respiration but he could not be revived. Baker, a longtime employee of R H Bouligny Co of Charlotte NC and later with Appalachian Electric Power Co, left a wife in hospital and seven children. Funeral at First street home with pastor Rev P C McCord officiating. Surviving include wife, seven children, a brother and three sisters, with services planned in Garland, Tennessee.
