Eugene Burdick Dies of Heart Attack at San Diego Resort
Author Eugene Burdick, 47, known for The Ugly American and Pall Safe, collapsed and died Monday at a San Diego resort after playing tennis with Mrs. Hugh Wood. Attempts at revival failed. he died en route to Doctor's Hospital. Autopsy planned. Burdick had recently been treated for heart trouble in Oakland and taught political theory at UC Berkeley.
