Freeman said he had no knowledge of the tickets and called the situation a nightmare. Don Spain of the Safety Department confirmed the suspension following the city letter to Nashville headquarters.

A 21 year old man died after falling from a 70 foot drop at Yosemite while visitors ignore warning signs near Vernal and Nevada Falls. George Bill Bailey a farmhand who died of apoplexy will finally be buried in a decent funeral Friday, 72 years after death. In Rockford Illinois an elderly couple Herman Kasch age 80 and Mary Kasch age 82 were found beaten and stabbed in their bedroom Sunday. Their son Rudolph Kasch 51 of Winnebago reported they could not reach them by phone. An autopsy will determine time and cause of death. Two weeks earlier a man threatened Mrs Kasch at knifepoint demanding money. she resisted and the suspect fled. The couple, shaken, stayed with a daughter in Harrison for days before returning July 14.
Dr Christiaan Barnard performed South Africa’s first combined heart and lungs transplant Sunday at Groote Schuur Hospital. The recipient, unnamed officially, is reported as Adrian Herbert, a Cape Town dental mechanic. Doctors said the patient is satisfactory and lungs and heart function well after a six hour operation without complications. The donor, reportedly a 24 year old black man Jackson Gunyn, died from head injuries. his wife Rosaline expressed hurt at the decision. Hospital officials noted two weeks will be critical for recovery and warned of infection and fluid risks in the lungs.
