Judges Defended Against Charge Of Wastefulness

Judge W R Kinton spoke at the Tennessee County Judges Association meeting defending county governments against charges of wastefulness and centralization. The convention in the Utilities building included remarks by city attorney H F Wilson and Judge A G Murrell from Sayotte county, with discussions on cooperation, education, and a non punitive Training School for boys. Governors, judges, and mayors from numerous counties attended as sessions covered district concerns and a planned Kingsport industry tour.

Child Seriously Hurt In Wreck Near Kingsport

Seven year old Belly de Wagner of Lynn Garden daughter of John Wagner is hospitalized with a double fracture and possible internal injuries after a Sunday afternoon auto collision near Mt. Carmel Hawkins county. Witnesses gave a license number later traced to J A Millard Blountville. County officers launched an inquiry into the driver while another Kingsport resident suffered a minor laceration in a separate accident on the Gate City Highway.

Annenberg Sentenced Man Heads To Lewisburg Prison

M L Annenberg surrendered to U S marshals in Chicago to begin a three year term for eversion of income taxes and was to be transported to the Lewisburg Pennsylvania penitentiary. Chief Deputy Marshal Joseph Yobin reported Annenberg appeared at his counsel Weymouth Kirkland’s loop office as the marshal’s office coordinated the process.

Ax-Wielding Officers Launch Blue Law Raid on Eddie's Steak House
