Convict Til Brotherton Shot Dead in Tennessee
In Greyville Tennessee on July 20 Til Brotherton who was under sentence of two years in the penitentiary for the killing of two youths last summer was shot at his dinner table. Bloodhounds and a sheriff s posse failed to find clues and no arrests were made. Brotherton was out on bail while his appeal to the Tennessee Supreme Court was under consideration. He and his brother Sam had been convicted for killing Young Biddle Carter found in their melon patch last August.
