Gilbert N. Haugen, 74, longtime congressman and champion of agriculture, died of heart disease at his Northwood home after a long service in the House. Survived by son L. G. Haugen of New York and daughter Mrs. Joe Johnson. He coauthored the McNary Haugen measure with Senator Charles L. McNary. Funeral services and burial planned for Friday afternoon in Northwood.
