No Politicking In My Stadium Allyn Says
CHICAGO reports White Sox owner Arthur Allyn blocked actor Warren Beatty from speaking at Comiskey Park over gun control politics. Beatty traveled from Cleveland for a planned appearance with advertising exec Fred Papert claiming consent from Sox official aides. Allyn said no authority allowed the speech, calling the issue political and denying fan indoctrination. Schaffer, Sox aide, later said permission was briefly granted but rescinded after Allyn and manager reviewed the plan, deeming it too controversial.
