Fifty two people are believed dead within a day as Pacific coast forest fires rage from Southern California to British Columbia. W. O. Dillon and family of six with a horse team were trapped on Trapper Creek Idaho. A group of 35 loggers and homesteaders faced danger in Washington while four Deukhobors were caught in Salmon Valley British Columbia. Rescue reports say mine workers and homesteaders in eastern Washington and northern Idaho escaped the flames. the situation was described as the worst on the Western coast.
