Captain O C Dowling United States Navy Commandant of the navy munitions depot said no one was seen killed in last night explosions that wrecked the depot and caused a fire expected to rage for hours. The depot contained 200 magazines with TNT depth charges high explosive shells and smokeless powder. Every building in the depot was wrecked and virtually every magazine exploded. Marines at the depot numbered sixty one along with twenty sailors from the Brooklyn navy yard on special duty and three other sailors.
