The Rev Claude A Cowan becomes pastor at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church arriving July 1 from Indianapolis. He studied at Maryville College McCormick Seminary and the Presbyterian Institute of Industrial Relations in Chicago in 1954. Local Girl Wins Northeast Sword Drill Title

Gwendolyn Wagner of the First Baptist Church Blountyne took first place in the northeast regional sword drill. Allan Kelly of Kingsport’s First Baptist Church placed second. The event was part of a singing convention at Indian Springs and is open to all singers.
