A platform was drafted by a 7 member subcommittee headed by Hugh Flowell as delegates from 17 Southern and border states gathered.
The case against Daisy Alexander Root, widow of Brenton Root, moves toward a jury in Memphis. Prosecutor Sam Campbell outlined events leading to Brenton Root's death on November 3 after a nightclub reconciliation with his estranged wife. The state aims for conviction but not the death penalty. testimony concluded with the slain man's mother testifying about a joint banking account.
About five million dancers are expected to celebrate tomorrow night with parties across rural and urban areas, featuring dances, balls, and large birthday events.
