A fire at Morrison City Methodist Church around 8:30 a.m. yesterday destroyed the main wooden section while the Sunday School building and parsonage were saved. Rev. Jack Brown reported the blaze began in the furnace room before services. gate city and community fire departments fought the two hour blaze in frigid weather. The sanctuary was beyond saving but repairs began, and Brown said the church would rebuild.

A 40 year old Kingsport man, G. W. Hopkins of 316 Iris Drive, was injured in an automobile accident on Delrose Drive at 8 15 this morning. He was treated for a leg injury at Holston Valley Community Hospital and released. Hopkins said he was riding alone and lost control on slippery pavement.

Young Man Forfeits $50 On DWI Charge
A 25 year old Kingsport man forfeited a $50 bond in City Court on a driving while intoxicated charge. James Ronald Bishop of Route 4 was arrested Saturday at 11 30 p m by Patrolman Kenneth Long.
