RCA Charges FCC With Plan To Create Radio Monopoly
Washington January 26 RCA charged before the House Merchant Marine committee that the Federal Radio Commission planned to grant all forty short wave channels to Universal Wireless Company of Buffalo, aiming to exclude RCA from the domestic market and cripple its international competition. Underwood on Last Journey to Birmingham
The body of former Senator Oscar W. Underwood of Alabama began the return trip from Alexandria Virginia to Birmingham at 6 19 p m. Accompanying the family were Representative W B Oliver and the Alabama congressional delegation. Funeral services will be held at the Independent Presbyterian church in Birmingham Monday at 10 a m. The procession carried more than 1 000 condolence messages from leaders nationwide. The homeward journey paused two hours at Alexandria while awaiting the New York connection.

Twelve miners killed in Kingston mine blast chaos
Kingston West Virginia January 26 twelve miners were confirmed dead and two more unaccounted for after a Kingston Pocahontas Coal Company explosion.
