Kentucky House OKs bill to end Keeneland betting tax
Kentucky House approves a Chandler administration measure to remove the parimutuel tax on Keeneland bets near Lexington. The 54 24 vote sends the bill to the Senate as Gov Chandler pledged tax repeal during his campaign. The tax raised about 300000 a year in 1964 under Gov Wetherby.
