Two Companions of Dead Youth Held on Bonds
Kingsport report details a fatal accident on Bloomingdale road where 17 year old James Nelms died, and companions Earl King and Garnie Donihe faced charges. King and Donihe surrendered after five hours, each bonded at 780 dollars. Nelms died at Riverview Hospital about an hour after the crash. The car, a Ford touring owned by a local rental concern, left the road at a high speed, struck a stump, and Nelms was thrown from the vehicle. King, driver, and Donihe were seated upfront. Nelms died from skull injuries. Nelms lived with mother Avis Nelms in West View Park. survived by siblings and half-siblings. Funeral set for 10 a.m. tomorrow at the home, burial at Old Protestant Cemetery in Kingsport. Both King and Donihe reside in West View Park.
