Washington Jay 23. The investigation by a Senate Judiciary Sub-Committee into protest against the confirmation of Federal Judge Harry B. Anderson of the Western district of Tennessee ended abruptly today after the judge testified in his own defense. He denied falsification of records and all other charges and said his actions, labelled by some as “top liberal,” would be repeated if called again. He defended discussing “Tabor saving” devices in court procedure and indicated he would revise procedures if serious complaint arose. Defense witnesses, including Spencer Argo of the Department of Justice, challenged earlier testimony. The hearing paused as Senator Walsh interrupted and the matter was continued on page four.
