VANN TOWN, Tonn. (UPI) A Lincoln County town faces heavy starling and blackbird invasions each winter. The birds cause diseased livestock deaths, animal losses, and grain damage. Farmer Charles DeLap cites roosting in his 150 acre pine forest and in barn roofs and on machinery. He notes up to four million birds in the area nightly, with droppings depth and ongoing yearly return until trees are killed.
