Galavan's bicycle showed rear impact and a broken flashlight. officers recovered the bicycle and flashlight for investigation.
Allied headquarters reported German forces crossed the Senio River about 13 miles north of Faenza and established a small bridgehead on the south bank. The position, estimated at roughly 100 men, faced counterattacks as Allied patrols increased along the Adriatic front after weeks of Nazi resistance.
Nashville Tennessee governor Jim Nance McCord met with Senator William Buckles Direct Representative Brack Sams and Fraternal Representative B H B Smith in his first full day as chief executive to discuss matters concerning upper East Tennessee. Buckles announced a general bill requiring all people over 19 who claim to be trained patient attendants to pass a licensing exam and pay a one dollar annual fee to practice, with the measure to be introduced next week.
