Mother Perishes Trying to Save Two Children in Blazing Home
A mother, Mrs. J. F. Richards, 26, died from burns after entering a log cottage to rescue her children, Laura Jeanette Richards, 6, and James Franklin Richards Jr., 3, as flames engulfed the Tennessee Eastman Corporation home near Borden Mills around 8:30 this morning. The children perished inside. the mother is in a dying condition at Riverview Hospital. Firemen found the two bodies together near the south end of the ruin, the house consumed to blackened walls.
