Will Advertise Bids for Kingsport to Blountville Highway
F W Webster state highway department engineer said the Highway Commission will advertise bids today for the section of the federal Lee Highway between Kingsport and Blountville with bids opened in Nashville on February 8. A second section between Blountville and Bristol will follow in six to eight weeks after plans are approved. The move ends years of uncertainty for Sullivan county and signals action on the lower road segment with construction to begin promptly after bids.
