PORTLAND Maine January 11 VPI A Cape Hatteras gale appears to have swallowed Captain Thomas M Bram once a Boston murder convict and his four masted schooner Alvena and crew. The ship bound from Jacksonville to Portland was last heard from Sunday and no trace has been found. Bram 30 years ago was sentenced to hang for the murder of Captain Nash and two others aboard the Herbet Fuller. Bram later escaped a life sentence and Mary Roberts Rinehart later wove the tale into fiction.
