Malaysians Capture 5 Indonesian Guerrillas

Employment Up Says Labor Chief

Washington labor secretary W Willard Wirtz says the drop in unemployment to 4 9 percent last month is a slow coming sign of improvement. December unemployment fell to 3 5 million from 3 8 million a year earlier and the rate eased from 5 0 percent to 4 9 percent. In December 1963 the rate was 5 5 percent.

Trio Found Innocent In Jury Tamper Case

Herman A. Fravier Alfred N. Paden and Albert P. Cole former Huntington West Virginia policemen were found innocent of jury tampering in connection with the 1962 Hoffa trial in Nashville. A federal jury deliberated 45 minutes before acquitting them. The defendants testified they were innocent and said they were in Nashville at the instruction of a man who hired them. The government alleged they posed as reporters for the Nashville Banner and made telephone calls to jurors.
