Off northeast Japan heavy seas battered the Russian ship Dvina with about 780 passengers aboard. Rescue shps stood by as six more moved toward the leaking vessel. Officials hope to tow the Dvina to shore. several American and Japanese vessels, with a Russian patrol boat, aided the effort.
Mrs. Rodney Ruggies Boats faces a major responsibility in the comic strip storyline. The episode follows her handling a new challenge with determination and humor, illustrating family and community life through the evolving adventures.
A blaze gutted the top three floors of Turner Hall, a five story brick and frame building near uptown Cincinnati. National Guard planes at Fort Knox chased an object to 20 000 feet but observers said it remained out of reach.
