Burglars broke into the Kingsport and Clinchfield Drug Stores early Saturday. Plate glass doors were smashed but managers report no losses found after inspection. Police suspect the intruders sought dope but left empty handed. Similar break ins occurred prior, with small thefts. Investigators place the latest entry between 5 and 5 30 a m.
The Kingsport Kiwanis Club will be formed at an 8 oclock banquet at the Kingsport Inn. Permanent officers will be elected and the organization completed. George Selig, Kiwanis district organizer, and L H Phettepince, lieutenant governor candidate, will attend.
Circuit Court Judge Richard C. Stoll issued a temporary restraining order in a dispute between Burney Tobacco Growers' Cooperative Association and Fayette county farmer W F Caywood. The association contends the tobacco crop is pledged to it, while Caywood asserts the crop belongs to his son. The case details follow in the report.

Sullivan county will cover half the cost of two reinforced concrete bridges on Sullivan street over Reedy Creek and Kinzer's Branch, with the total expense not to exceed 23000 dollars. The county court approved the appropriation in a regular quarterly session at Blountville. The plan involves Kingsport constructing the bridges as part of a connected concrete street, aiding county travel and the Lee Highway route.
officials of the Methodist Episcopal Church South confer with residing elders lay leaders and evangelists in Chattanooga Tenn on plans for an area wide evangelistic program in the Holston Conference. Bishop Edwin D Mouton of Nashville will finalize plans with Holston leaders for an evangelistic campaign similar to a Tennessee Conference revival and may preach in this area and Memphis. Also present for addresses are Dr R L Russell head of evangelism Dr Charles L Goodell of New York and Evangelist D L Cole.
President John N. Willys announced production surpassed 200000 cars on December 15, marking a peak year for Willys-Overland. He forecast 1924 production near 300000 cars and stated the firm expects to exceed all 1923 records, signaling a bold national automotive push.
