Nixon's Inaugural Will Be Costliest Ever
Washington report says Nixon's inauguration will cost about 24 million dollars the highest in U. S. history. Private loans totaling 2 million dollars will be interest free and repaid from inaugural proceeds. 800 businesses were asked to lend 1 to 25 thousand dollars with 15 million already underwritten. Marriott, head of the committee, said the fundraising may boost relations with the new administration. Congress has allocated 100 thousand dollars for the swearing in ceremony. The oath is set for January 26 at noon.
