AEC denies missing uranium from Oak Ridge plants
AEC spokesman Jim Alexander refuted reports that 9000 pounds of enriched uranium were stolen from three diffusion plants at Oak Ridge Tennessee Paducah Kentucky and Portsmouth Ohio. He said waste and unaccounted material occur in maintenance cycles as plant components are dismantled for service.

Hostages Freed After Guards Storm Embattled Prison Hospital

FBI arrest ends run of Miami murder fugitive Knight
FBI agents and police captured 23 year old Thomas Otis Knight in New Smyrna Beach Florida. Knight was among the ten most wanted fugitives and escaped from Dade County jail on September first with 11 others. He was the last to be recaptured. An FBI spokesman said Knight offered no resistance.
