Christmas Pardons Reported for Prisoners in State
Governor Tinkle announced 13 pardons and 3 absolute pardons for inmates, with 14 stores for Christmas pardons. Names of pardonees were not released, including the Garrett brothers, as he refused to publish identities to avoid prejudicing their chances of rehabilitation. Pardons are being sent to the penitentiary and beneficiaries released as promptly as pardons are received. The governor emphasized a second chance should not be hindered by public lists.
