King George's illness bulletin gives cautious notes of improvement. In New Jersey, the body of seven year old Joseph Storela was found in a swamp near Secaucus after police linked a confessed Detroit suspect to the East Side kidnapping.
Two divers Earl Devore and Norman Batten died after the Vestris disaster while their wives survived. Local efforts raise funds for the widows as they recount losing cash and apparel to the sea with all work funds gone. The spouses recall their missing belongings and ongoing financial strain.
A brutal cold wave swept the South and Midwest with sub freezing readings from Bristol Virginia to Memphis Tennessee. Temperatures dropped to 27 in Bristol and 28 in Teste while Louisville and Asheville reported near freezing lows. Forecasters warned of continued cold with wind chill and possible record lows in several cities as a winter pattern held.

The couple married in New York and later traveled to Maryland before visiting Keswick hotel where the bride’s body was found and jewels missing. Chung was found guilty in October and after appeals remained convicted.
Royston Texas December 6 a veteran agent Pat Sharpe 40 died after descending into a cave beneath a whiskey distillery he cried go back before collapsing colleagues and the cave owner were detained as officials moved to search for lethal gas and determine if it was an accident or trap.
Beery wife Mrs Beery files for divorce in Los Angeles charging she was abused choked struck and threatened by film actor Sugh Beery in hotels and homes. Judge Bishop set December 14 to show cause on alimony and support while Beery denies the charges and cites financial strain. The case seeks community property division about 300000 and custody of their 16 year old son Noah Wilbur Beery. The couple married in Boston in 1910 and separated in 1927.
President-elect Hoover wrapped up a goodwill voyage along Peru’s coast and looked toward Antofagasta Chile as his next stop. He credited talks with Peru’s President Lezuia and other officials for aiding his presidency and strengthening Pan American ties. He praised Peruvians for their warm welcome during fourteen hours on Peruvian soil.
Washington dispatch notes speculation on President Coolidge sending Secretary of the Interior West and Commerce Secretary Whiting to the Senate for confirmation. A possible Senate fight is linked to West's nomination, with potential delay affecting naval construction and Kellogg-Briand treaty actions.
Chairman Graham of the House judiciary committee recommended to President Coolidge that Representative Garrett of Tennessee be appointed as a Democrat to the court of customs appeals. Garrett will retire from the House at end of the current session after not seeking re election and being defeated in a Senate bid.
United States Senator T. Coleman Du Pont of Delaware resigns from the Senate due to health issues, announced from Wilmington, Delaware, on December 5.
Colorado Springs December 6. The Associated Students voted to cancel all formal social events for the rest of the school year except the junior prom due to alleged drinking parties by senior members during the homecoming celebration. The Tiger weekly criticized college drinking at events and described an atmosphere of corn whiskey and synthetic gin.
The Shebert Revue "Gay Paree" at the Biltmore Theatre was shut by police for an indecent number. Valentine Kennedy, Frank Gaby, Stanley Rogers and Miss Charlotte Terry were arrested on charges of conducting an indecent show.
Five bandits raided Junction City on the Arkansas Louisiana line early today. They captured the night watchman, broke into two banks and a drug store, and escaped with about $300 in loot.
W. L. Shippey killed prominent Atlanta automobile dealer G Hal Davis in front of a warehouse near the Hall Devil establishment after a dispute over Shippey's wife. Shippey surrendered to police saying Davis had wronged his wife. He admitted firing five times, Davis died instantly.
In New York J Leigh Manuelle 86 church organist and teacher is held without bail on bigamy charges after arranging his wife to witness his marriage to a 19-year-old pupil. The couple’s 13 year marriage ends as Mrs Leigh Manuelle travels to Sayville with the other woman. Cornelius Van Wyden’s son restrains the scene.
Louisvill e Kentucky reports that gambler king Alvey was kidnapped by three men near his home Monday night. They held him for hours in a hidden location across the river, allegedly offering friendly treatment while signaling no payment. He was released unharmed and returned home before dawn, describing his captors as professional yet gentle.
