Convention Lists Ceiling On Interest

Constitutional Convention delegates in Nashville moved to remove the 10 percent interest ceiling. Deed Mistakes Cost Dickenson $19000

Public Accounts Auditor Charles Trible announced a state audit found 1,208 deeds improperly recorded in Dickenson County over two years, causing a net loss of about $19,000 in deed taxes. Hawkins Sets Meeting To Talk Tax Referendum

Hawkins County officials schedule a special session for December 15 at 7 p.m. in the Circuit Court Room to discuss a referendum on raising the local option sales tax to fund two new high schools estimated to cost 18 million dollars.
