Colonial Heights man Mark Fricke units were charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after Sullivan County deputies broke up a Haven Drive gathering. Nineteen juveniles were detained and released to parents as beer, alcohol and a small amount of marijuana were found nearby. Deputies noted ongoing complaints about youths and disturbances.
Kingsport selects James Elam Gate City Paul Ernest Jennings and Timothy Max Smith to fill three vacancies. They start Sept 1 as sailers awaiting patrol assignments with salaries of 565 per month plus a 5 percent raise after six months. Elam is a former Army MP, Jennings a Dobyns Bennett graduate studying law enforcement, and Smith a former assistant minister from Ohio with a theology degree.
