World’s Fair trip lands youths in jail

Three Greenville youths Almage Ogdesby I W Ells and Harley Cling aged 19 21 21 were charged with stealing two automobiles after a Bristol Virginia car headed toward Kingsport was spotted. They were handed to an FBI agent in Johnson City by Kingsport police following a tip from Bristol car owner D Dunham and his son-in-law Ben Barnes.

Cobb Sets World Land Speed Record In California

John R Cobb of London drove the Railton Red Lion to a world land speed record of 68.85 mph for the mile and 369.2 mph kilometer pace at Utah in a two lap run, surpassing Capt George Eyston’s marks.
