Funeral Set Friday For Capt. Brumit
Johnson City Tennessee funeral services were tentatively planned for Friday for Capt Phillip Isaac Brumit veteran of the National Guard and western frontier battles in Cubs and Europe He died Wednesday at the Johnson City Veterans Hospital after a lengthy illness Brumit claimed to be the first Allied officer to cross the Hindenburg Line in 1918 His World War I decorations included the British Military Cross and a commendation from Gen John Pershing Survivors include his widow a daughter a son and a stepson
