Kingsport Prep For Two-Week Revival Led By R G McLees
Prayer meetings fill Kingsport homes daily this week as the city prepares to host a two week revival beginning Sunday night led by evangelist R G McLees of Chat ham Va. Ladies from local churches supervise the home meetings while daily gatherings at 615 o'clock are held at the Kingsport Improvement Company offices. The singing groups meet Thursday at 830 at the Presbyterian Church under RB Merrill to anchor the campaign’s music. A tent will rise at Centre and Sullivan streets weather permitting with all churches in the city cooperating for what may be the largest revival yet.

W R Pouder formerly Kingsport city manager has been chosen manager of Knoxville Board of Commerce. He resigned here July 3 and will serve until successor Herbert Kidd takes office Sept 20. Joseph F. Lewis a farmer and real estate dealer living in Kingsport died Sunday morning at 9 90 o clock in his fifty fifth year after a short illness. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church with ministers Rev Robert King and Rev S G Ketton. He is survived by his widow Mrs Sallie E Lewis a son Orville E Lewis a daughter Mims Beulah M Lewis and four brothers and five sisters.
