Heavy Rain Kills 120 In Brazil
In Salvador Bahia three days of heavy rains floods and landslides killed at least 120 people and left 2000 homeless. Governor Antonio Carlos Magalhaes declared a state of emergency and appealed for aid. Property damage estimated at 6 million dollars as more than 50 homes collapsed and 20 landslides were reported. Parts of the city remained underwater with lines down and highway access blocked. Schools housed the homeless while bodies were recovered since the floods began on Monday.

NASHVILLE UPI The Presidential Preference Primary Bill received final legislative approval earlier this week and became law when Gov Wirfield Dunn signed it. The measure requires all presidential hopefuls to campaign in Tennessee with ballots listing all legitimate candidates. Dunn called the law an opportunity to se the purest of Democratic processes and said delegates will reflect the will of the people. The governor also enacted the Tennessee Trails Act creating a state wilderness trails system.
