The 15th annual Southern Christian Convention closed at Civic Auditorium in East Point Georgia with Dr Morgan delivering the final address on He Satis e. Attendance topped 3 000 with 1 276 paid registrations and about 600 nonregistrants noted by Dr L Palmer Young secretary. Mrs William L Mynah played organ and Miss Tinda Snow piano for all sessions. next year’s convention set for Atlanta the week after Easter.

The last Audubon Wildlife Film Series will be presented at 7 30 p m Saturday at the Civic Auditorium. Nature photographer Charles Tyler Srotchkiss will show Wilderness Trails a colorful fast moving film visiting four national parks and state and private preserves. A highlight is a Bridger Wilderness hike into the Wind River mountains. Srotchkiss spent seven years with the National Park Service documenting wildlife and birds. He lives in Homestead Florida.

Bristol Man Dies in Fire at East State Street Home
Bristol authorities report Edmund W. Bull, 67, a nearly paralyzed resident, died after a fire damaged his home at 319 East State Street. Fire officials say he was found in his bedroom, burned, and may have been smoking in bed when the blaze began. Mrs. Pearl Eades alerted firefighters after seeing smoke from the frame house.

Two Youths Die In Hampton Car Crash
Two Mountain City youths Robert Thurman Holden aged 20 and James R Lunceford aged 24 were killed when their car lost control and careened down an embankment near Hampton. Holden died on arrival at Carter County Hospital and Lunceford died about three hours later at the hospital.
