Men Snatched at Jail During Night
Atlanta April 18 James Boggs and Abe Davis convicted of robbery in Tennessee were in Brushy Mountain prison mines today while Georgia authorities investigated how they traveled from a Dalton jail to Tennessee without extradition papers. They claimed they were kidnapped from the Dalton jail and dragged across the state line to Hamilton County jail in Chattanooga in the dead of night. They were sent to Brushy Mountain yesterday. Governor Talmadge's secretary said Georgia officials were probing the matter. Linder noted indictments in Hall and Dawson counties and that extradition papers were delayed. Kidnapping was described as transporting a prisoner across a state line while fighting extradition. Sheriff Bryant would not comment.
