Sullivan County reports 205 farms enrolled in the 1963 feed grain program, diverting 1,502 acres from corn. James Barnes, county ASCS office manager, notes 41 more farms joined the wheat program with 436 acres allotted. National totals show 1,497,724 farms in feed grain signups diverting 4,360,000 acres, 464,721 cotton farms diverting 4,283,000 acres, and 837,057 farms with wheat allotments of 0.4 million acres, about 83 percent of the national wheat allotment.
