Man Held In Jail On Felony Charge
Robert Thompson alias Charles Francis Massigila, 23, is held without bond on a charge of attempted murder with a preliminary hearing set for Saturday before Magister George E. Bradley. He allegedly tried to snatch a gun from an officer's holster during fingerprinting at Kingsport police headquarters. He was arrested Tuesday night on Johnson City highway for public drunkenness and brought to Kingsport jail, where he claimed prior prison terms in South Carolina and Georgia. Knoxville reports Tom Jennings of Clinton, seven, died from injuries after a car overturn Monday. he was brother of Rep. John Jennings.
