The obituary notes Nels Knudtson born July 6 1823 in Hallingdal Norway died May 31 1905 at age 81 in Lake Preston Dakota area. He married Guri Kuudt Won June 2 1857 and immigrated to Iowa then Emmet County before homesteading two miles northeast of Lake Preston. The couple raised seven children and lived quietly in town since 1891.
Seven children survive Kuute Nel son. Andrew Nelson and Mrs Thos Coulseon live just north of town, Mrs W E Wilde lives west of town, Lewis and Albert Nelson live in Alberta Canada, and Bert Nelson of Volga. All the children except the two in Canada are present at the funeral today.
Mr and Mrs P C Nelson celebrated their silver wedding on Tuesday May 30. Neighbors gathered in the afternoon and a younger party joined in the evening with 25 to 50 guests. Gifts from friends included a silver knife set and a fruit dish with spoons from relatives.
Anna Ginn daughter of William and Lacytha Miller born 1828 near Eaton Ohio lived in Clarksburg Indiana later moved to Kirkville Iowa. She married Benjamin Ginn in 1850. he died the same year he served in the Civil War. She moved church affiliations and died after an injury in March with funeral in her daughter’s home and burial in Ottumwa Iowa.
The family expresses sincere thanks to friends and neighbors for sympathy kindness and assistance during their mother's illness and recent bereavement from J S Meson and family.
A red bull calf about one year old was taken at SE 428-112-57 in Le Seuer township on May 6 1905. The entry lists Dane Cavin as the claimant or involved party.
