A reFORM governor needs a reform friendly legislature to enact changes. State leaders favor placing the Crawford faction so reform bills cannot pass. The call is clear for a legislature that can “make good” on reform efforts.
Hudsonite accuses C. H. Cassill of Lincoln county candidate for state treasurer of losing the Hudson delegation at the county convention for umpiring a ball game at Hudson three years ago. The Argus Leader responds with sarcasm about Cassill umpiring all over Lincoln county.
The Big Stone Headlight reports Grant County’s late county convention adopted resolutions with one exception for Judge Campbell. They back Mr. Ramer’s call for fair railway taxation and new primary laws suited to the state, plus abolition of railway passes for state officers. Full text not published this week.

W F Brennan was named chairman of the county central committee to fill a vacancy. Precinct chairmen are urged to nominate a secretary to the county central committee secretary. Delegates at the state convention retain full voting power as the convention adjourned. Thos L Pay served as chairman with John Hasche as secretary.
Farmers of United States and Canada organize to fix prices on farm produce. Meeting to form a Local Union to the National Union will be held at De Smet on Saturday June 2 at 2 00 p m. Excursion tickets to races at Huron offered at reduced rates June 12 13 and 14.
