J Graham Morrison Lincoln county agent gave a humorous address as W B Logan presided. Retiring president Jacob Cooper welcomed attendees and presented guests including Rush Hamrick and Mrs Hamrick Ed Ellia of Charlotte installed the new officers: W S Fulton Jr president Ned McGill and Joe Hedden vice president Grady Howard secretary James McKinney treasurer Ralph Spearman sergeant at arms and directors J B Falla Paul Walker and Bill Page. The gathering featured dinner, a dance with the Highlighters Shelley quintet providing music.

Funeral Rites Held Sunday For Dr. Baird
Funeral services for Dr. Robert Neil Baird former ARP pastor and Kings Mountain civic leader were held Sunday at Boyce Memorial ARP Church. Rev. W L Pressly conducted the rites with Rev. Francis T He assisting. Interment followed at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Dr Baird, a World War I veteran and Erskine College graduate, had served in Iva South Carolina before coming to Kings Mountain in 1940. He died Friday night at Gaston Memorial Hospital after declining health for three years, suffering a stroke in 1915 and taking a leave of absence in 1945.
