Mrs. T. B. Goforth Dies At Age 78
Mrs. Thomas Beaty Goforth 78 died Saturday evening after two weeks illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 00 am at the home of her daughter Mrs. W Hill Putnam. She was married to Themes Beet Goforth on January 14 1816. Surviving are her husband two daughters George Owens of Kings Mountain Orr Goforth of Cramentons and Munier Goforth Harris. Five grandchildren also survive. She joined Bethel ARP church early in life later transferring to Kings Mountain ARP Church remaining an active member.

Miss Kirkpatrick Buried Thursday
Moselle Kirkpatrick died Wednesday morning at her sister's home in Cherryville after a year nursing Mrs. Oliver in Richburg. Illness revealed a malignant disease. funeral was in Richburg Methodist Church with interment at Union Cemetery. She was daughter of Mrs. Sallis Drennan Kirkpatrick and the late George W. Kirkpatrick, survived by her mother three sisters and six brothers. Her Kings Mountain friends mourn her death and note her faithful church attendance.

Negro Killed In Car Train Crash Here Sunday
A local 18 year old Negro, Will Wilson, was killed instantly Sunday at about 1:00 PM when the pickup truck he drove collided with southbound passenger train No 33 of the Southern Railroad at the crossing near the Kings Mountain Ice Plant. The wreck demolished the truck, Wilson’s body was thrown clear, and a doctor passing by aided responses before the body removal. Wilson, employed by Poole Transportation Co, was described by officials as a hard working man.

Kings Mountain Band Heads to Rhododendron Festival in Asheville
Kings Mountain School band of ten left early yesterday to join the Rhododendron Festival activities in Asheville. The group performed yesterday and will present a concert today. Students travel on buses at two dollars round trip, with lodging arranged in local facilities. Chaperones Mrs. E W Griffin Supt B N Barnes and band director Paul E Hendricks accompanied the trip.
