Voters in Cleveland County will decide on July 7 1946 whether to assume the $48 000 indebtedness of Number Six Township for Shelby Hospital and to approve related bond issues including up to 160 000 for remodeling and equipment of a county hospital in Kings Mountain and a possible ad valorem tax increase to fund operations. Registration runs June 2 25 with polling places listed and voting hours 6 20 AM to 8 PM Eastern War Time.

Pfe. James B. Davis of 123 Pine Street Shelby North Carolina, aged 25, was released from a German prison camp hospital at Leipzig and is now recovering at a United States Army general hospital in England. He was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded near the Luxembourg border when his pony held a tow. He says German forces used many 88 and mortars and that most of his treatment occurred in various hospitals.
