George G Boone Dies At Age 73 In Kings Mountain
George G Boone, 73, died at his home on Railroad Avenue after a two week illness over Christmas. Funeral services were held at Central Methodist Church with interment in Mountainview Cemetery. The elder Boone, a long time textile worker, was a faithful Central Methodist member. He is survived by his widow, three daughters Ella McDaniel Claude Ware and Charles Kennedy all of Kings Mountain, a son Clemensee Boone of Hemp, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, plus a sister and brother.

Gaston Man Slashed in Highway Assault at Filling Station
In Gaston County a manhunt continues for an unidentified assailant who slashed M. H. Nell, 34, overseer at Algodon Manufacturing in Bessemer City. Nell suffered a knife wound to the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition after an argument at Walt Gladden's filling station on the Bessemer City Kings Mountain road. The attacker fled in a Kings Mountain taxi. Nell did not recognize the assailant.

Three Deer Killed at Nessler Hunting Preserve Easter Hunt
Three deer were killed on the last xeazen hunt at the Nessler Hunting Preserve in eastern North Carolina on Easter. Hunters Joe Nessler F Tidwell and another Nessler brought home the deer. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Lester Cunningham who was found dead early Christmas morning beside the Southern Tallies4teks north of Phenix Mill.
