The only person authorized to solicit subscriptions are the candidates and their workers. Receipts and lists available by applying at this office. No territorial restriction on where votes may be secured. Each contestant may solicit votes anywhere. Votes issued at The Star office have no expiration and may be voted until contest ends. Votes cannot be transferred after casting at The Star office. Each Star issue includes a 25 vote coupon for voting for any contestant.

First Frost and Ice Report Ushers Seasonal Chill
The first killing frost of the season came Monday night and Tuesday morning revealed heavy sparkling crystals over the landscape. Frost lingered past 7 o'clock with a low temperature creating a thin ice coating in shallow vessels. Suit for Divorce Involving Custody and Alimony
Mrs Rosetta Wright sues for divorce from J Martin Wright in circuit court. She seeks custody of their 17 year old daughter Ruby and alimony. Wright denies charges and will present his defense when the case opens November 1 in Schoonover court. A restraining order limits Wright from contacting Mrs Wright until the hearing.
