Amos Wilson born October 29 1822 Ohio emigrated to Indiana as a child. He learned carpentry, married Sarah Booe in 1843, had two children. His first wife died 1852. he remarried Eleanor Booe in 1856 and had a daughter. He joined Old Scott's Prairie church in 1857 and died September 24 1907 aged 84. He left a son two daughters sixteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren along with siblings.
A Star compilation lists transfers filed for record by O. S. Douglas abstractor for 5 per cent mortgage loans Covington Indiana. Various deeds show Herschel Tignor to E. Alice Patton int in 95 acres Wa bash township and other lot transfers to several buyers with prices ranging from 50 to 6000 dollars, including Covington Hillsboro and Chambersburg properties. Tax notices urge timely payment.
Francis Adeline Alderson born August 18 1839 in Charleston Illinois died September 26 1907 at home near Cates Indiana at age 68 years 1 month 9 days. She married Nathan E. Moore on September 17 1867 and had seven children five living William R Frederic C Charles H Horace B G Washington and Mary H with husband and one brother Richard Alderson mourn their loss. She joined United Brethren church about fifty two years ago and later the Christian church lived a faithful Christian life until death following a bout with spasmodic laryngitis after midnight. Funeral at home one mile south of Cates at 10 oclock with Rev. Wathal.

Spencer’s new hearse after a sick horse delay. Morton Wilkey and Lewis Dix returned from the Jamestown Exhibition. Fay Cook transacted business in Covington Tuesday. Kingman H S and New Richland H S football game set for tomorrow at the latter place. Isaac Shirk and wife of Osaka Calif visiting David Shirk on Second Street. Steamboat advertises paint as best and cheapest.
