Tangier Plans Citizens Telephone Co Formation
At a mass meeting of Tangier telephone owners held at the school house last Friday, N. B. Clark was chosen president and D. M. Brown secretary. The group organized to form The Citizens Telephone Co. of Tangier with a constitution and by laws adopted by ballot. A five member board was elected: N. B. Clark Jacobson Steven Lindley Wm. Bow sher and D. D. Ray. The new board will install a Western Telephone Manufacturing Co. switch board and secure office space, aiming to provide day and night service including Sundays.

Hay Crops Show Declines From Last Year
Figures by Joseph H. Stubbs indicate Timothy and clover hay crops fell short of last year. Timothy acreage and yields dropped, and clover showed lower acreage and yield with a smaller total for both hays. Alfalfa was minimal with 37 650 acres statewide.

Glanders in Horses and Its Risks

Good Corn Husking at Rathbone Lodge Benefit
Anson G Madden of Fountain Circuit Court arranged a corn husking fundraiser for Rathbone lodge. On Tuesday several ladies used a team and wagon to husk 42 bushels in 35 minutes. They sold the corn to Jerry Garden for 40 cents a bushel and placed the proceeds in the lodge treasury.

May Begin Term at Once Judge Schoonover May Take Office
The Attica Ledger reports Judge Schoonover may assume his circuit bench next Monday but the exact moment is uncertain as Milford’s term may expire with the new judge’s qualifications. The attorney general ruled that Sims and Billheimer take office immediately, both governor appointments.

Kingman Overpowers Rockville In Local Gridiron Bout
Last Saturday at Maplewood Park Kingman beat Rockville 17 to 5 in a well played game. Rockville was heavier but Kingman showed greater science and speed. The home team, unbeaten except for one early loss at Waveland, may have played its final game this season.
